Do Celebrities have Microbladed Eyebrows? Is Microblading Right for You?

Isn’t it amazing how flawless our favorite celebs look all the time? Their hair, their lips, their makeup, their eyebrows? Their eyebrows especially, in the last couple of years, have started to look near perfect. Have you been wondering why they look so perfect? Well, it may be because of Microblading. This permanent makeup technique has been an open secret in the celebrity world over the last decade. And now it is spilling into the masses too.

Let us look at celebs who have microbladed eyebrows, and then see if this permanent makeup is right for you.

Which Celebs have Microbladed Eyebrows?

1. Mandy Moore

Mandy Moore was one of the trailblazers of microblading. When her brow artist Kristie Streicher called her to tell her about this new semi-permanent eyebrow tattoo, the ‘This is Us’ star stepped up for a micro feathering session. This was a type of microblading, but milder, so that her already full brows could be given some texture and definition.

Mandy Moore confessed to being bad at doing her brows every day. And Microblading helped her get that perfect look without really working at all!

“I love it.” She was quoted saying, “It’s one less thing to do and it’s changed my whole beauty routine because I was constantly trying to fuss and fix my eyebrows so they would look the way they did when she (her brow artist) did them, which would never happen because I’m just terrible at doing my own eyebrows.”

2. Lena Dunham

Another celebrity who openly talked about her microblading experience was Lena Dunham. Lena made a video of her microblading journey for Vogue US, and her reaction was too precious to miss. The American actress, writer, and director said — “I was too stunned to speak. On my face were two perfect brows, the same hard-to-capture brown as the hair on my head, multidimensional, thick in all the right places, giving my face a grounded seriousness I had been wishing for.”

3. Helen Mirren

One of the legends of cinema, Helen Mirren proved that growing old doesn’t mean you give up on your eyebrows. She was sick of her brows thinning out due to age and went for microblading. And the result was beyond beautiful.

“I’ll tell you what I had done recently, which I love – I got my eyebrows tattooed,” she was quoted saying in one of her interviews. She described her newly microbladed brows — “They’re very lightly and delicately done – but it means that when I get up in the morning and I have no makeup on, at least I have eyebrows. It’s made a huge difference.”

4. Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow first got her eyebrows micrboladed back in 2017. She has a pair of beautiful blonde brows, which are now enhanced with natural strokes of microblading.

5. Demi Lovato

Back when she was a teen Disney star, Demi Lovato preferred her eyebrows skinny. That was the trend back in the late 90s and early 2000s, so who can blame her? But now she has gotten thicker, fuller eyebrows thanks to microblading. This gives hope to all those women who had similar skinny, thin, or over-plucked eyebrows 20 years ago.

Other Celebs who got Microblading:

  • Mila Kunis
  • Lorde
  • Adele
  • Madonna
  • Megan Fox
  • Serena Williams
  • Oprah

Is Microblading Right for You?

If these beautiful celebs have tempted you to get microblading too, then don’t wait any longer. Here are a few pointers to know if microblading is right for you:

-     Microblading is great for most people, but especially for those who have thin, skinny, sparse, or very light-colored eyebrows.

-     For those who apply heavy eyebrow makeup daily, and want to save on time, energy, money, and hassle.

-     For those who want to achieve the ‘celebrity’ look.

-     For those who want to get a natural look.

-     It is also preferred by a lot of cancer patients, but only after all their chemotherapy sessions are completed.

There are a few exceptions for microblading though. People with the following may need to first consult with their artist before getting microblading:

  • Skin diseases: eczema, keratosis pilaris, psoriasis, dermatitis
  • Skin conditions: Chronic acne or rosacea
  • Sunburns: Wait for a few days and only get microblading once the sunburn is healed.
